Care about how you feel - My Imagination

The most important thing is how we feel.   Our thoughts and feelings are all connected, and we have over 60000 thoughts every day so its not that easy to notice what we are thinking.  But the easiest way to know what you are thinking, is to notice how you feel.  Our feelings tell us what we are thinking.  If you feel low, you are thinking low thoughts.  If you feel happy, you are thinking happy thoughts.  Try it for yourself, don’t just take my word for it.

Did you know that the more we feel good or on the upward scale rather than the downward scale, we attract more things that keep us feeling this way?  The same goes for when we feel low, upset, irritable, frustrated…….the more we stay in that feeling state, the more things we attract that keep us in that state.

This is all very well for me to say but, in the moment is it that easy to notice how you feel and change it?  It can be. With some practise it gets easier and becomes second nature, an automatic way of thinking.  But you have to put the practise in to rewire the brain and create new neural pathways that lead to new habits of thinking in a more positive way.

The place to start is to practise mindfulness every day as part of you life which will help you to recognise how you feel and when you are having negative (rather than positive) thoughts.

There are plenty of mindfulness activities you can do that will quieten your thinking and plug you back in to your inner self.  My favourite one to do, which I do every morning before I get out of bed, is mindful listening.  Put on headphones and listen to a constant sound such as rainfall or a ticking clock, for about 10-15 minutes.  Do this every day and you will begin to notice changes happening quite quickly.
